Group of people that meet on a regular basis to share their experiences and provide mutual support. Offers weekly educational support groups that are a combination of women sharing their experiences and learning about the dynamics of sex trafficking and other forms of violence against women and girls. Mutual support groups whose members are individuals who have a disorder involving the use of drugs including prescription drugs and over-the-counter medication.
The groups meet in-person, by telephone or via the Internet; provide emotional support, information and resources to help participants overcome their disorder; and may include faith-based and secular step groups as well as non step groups, and groups for anesthetists, pharmacists, psychologists, physicians or other health care professionals who are recovering from a drug use disorder.
Individuals who are generally between the ages of 18 and 25 depending on the ages that specific programs use for qualification. Men and women who are employed in the provision of sexual acts, and other activities deed specifically for sexual stimulation. Included are prostitutes, strippers, phone sex workers, live website sex performers and adult video performers. Individuals including adults and children, males and females who have been abducted, sold, recruited under fraud or pretense or otherwise brought under the control of another person, and forced, by means of threats, intimidation, violence or other forms of coercion, into unpaid or underpaid labor, servitude or prostitution, either domestically within their own country or internationally.
Other forms of exploitation include provision of children for illegal adoption, provision of women as mail-order brides, and subjection of individuals of all ages to the forced removal of organs. Individuals who have been forced into prostitution against their will or to serve as "sex slaves".
The commercial sex trade can include street prostitution, massage parlors, escort services, strip clubs and residential brothels. Sex trafficking can be defined as the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision or obtaining of a person for the purposes of a commercial sex act, in which the commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such an act has not attained 18 years of age.
